Working the pipeline

Dragging cards between stages, what each card tells you, and how saving works.

The Pipeline tab is a board. Each column is a stage; each card is a lead. If you run more than one pipeline, choose which board to show from the Pipeline menu above it.

Moving a card

Drag a card into another column. The board updates immediately and saves in the background; there is no reload and no save button. If the save fails, the card returns to the column it came from rather than leaving the board showing something the server did not accept.

While you drag, the column under the card is highlighted. The whole column is the drop target, so you can drop below its last card, even in a long board.

What a card shows

Cards are kept short so a busy stage fits on one screen.

  • Name and business, with the bid amount on the right
  • How long the card has been sitting, under the bid. Past a fortnight this turns amber, which is your cue that something has stalled.
  • One line underneath: what they are interested in, and a phone number (or email if there is no phone)
  • The job description, when you rest the pointer on the card

Opening a card

Click the name to open the contact card. Clicking the name only; the rest of the card is the drag handle, so opening details never fights with dragging. Double-clicking the card opens the lead editor.

Column totals

Each column header shows how many cards it holds and the total bid value sitting in that stage. As you scroll down a long column, its header stays at the top of the screen so you always know which stage you are in.
