Setting up your workspace

Three optional questions shape your starting pipeline and contact fields. Here is what setup does, what it never touches, and how to come back to it.

After you create your account, Kirk One asks three questions: what kind of contractor you are, what kind of clients you serve, and what you need most right now. The right-hand side shows the pipeline and contact fields your answers suggest, and says what applying them would do to your workspace.

Complete later

Every question is optional. Complete later takes you straight on to checkout. You can come back at any time from Review your workspace setup on the Overview’s Getting started list, or at app.kirk-co.com/portal/onboarding. Only the account owner can change setup; team members never see it.

What finishing does

  • A workspace with nothing in it yet gets the suggested pipeline as its default, and the suggested contact fields.
  • A workspace that already has a pipeline keeps it exactly as it is — its stages, their names and every lead in them. The suggested contact fields are added; a field you already have (same name, ignoring capitals and accents) is reused under your name, not duplicated.

If you chose Complete later and opened the dashboard first, the dashboard created its standard pipeline. Finishing setup afterwards keeps that pipeline and says so; it does not quietly swap it.

The setup page then shows three things separately: Applied (what setup did, and when), Your workspace now, and Recommended from your answers.

Adding the recommended pipeline later

Under Recommended from your answers, choose Add “…” as a new pipeline beside it to create the suggested pipeline next to yours. You can also tick Make it the default for new leads. Existing leads are never moved. Review the list of changes, then choose Apply these changes.

Changing your answers

Edit answers changes the recommendation only — nothing in your workspace changes until you review the new list and apply it. If your workspace changed in the meantime (a field added in another tab, say), Kirk One shows the updated list instead of applying the old one. Applying the same list twice has no extra effect.

What setup never does. It never renames, reorders or deletes a pipeline, stage or field, never moves a lead, never adds sample contacts, and never sends an email or invoice. Answering “Invoicing and payments” only changes which Getting started step you see.
