Notes on a contact

Written notes on any lead or client, stamped with who wrote them and when.

Notes are written notes against a lead or a client — what was agreed on the phone, why a quote changed, who to ask for. They are on every plan.

What a note holds

  • A title.
  • A body, as long as you need.
  • The date and time it was added, and the account that added it, stamped at the bottom.

That last line is the point of notes on a shared account: months later it still says who wrote it and when. An edited note is marked as edited.

Where to write them

  • On a contact record: the Notes tab in the right-hand rail on Premium, or the right-hand column on Starter.
  • On a contact card, anywhere in the dashboard: the notes panel slides out beside the card, so you can read the record and the notes together without opening a page.

Who can see them

Two permissions, both in the Sales Dashboard group:

  • Read contact notes — see them.
  • Write contact notes — add, edit and delete them.

An account without the read permission sees no notes panel at all. Notes belong to your workspace and are never visible to the client in their Website Manager.

Adding, editing and deleting a note is recorded in the Activity Log.
